How do I register for the exam, and what is the fee?
Residents of New York can schedule their exams by telephone, internet, mail or fax.
The exams for New York are provided by PSI Exams . The exam fee is $49.00.

How do I file a license application and how much does it cost?
After passing the license examination, submit your license application to the Insurance Department. Online licensing is available to first time RESIDENT applicants applying for an individual license. You will need to apply for your license within 2 years of taking the exam. Resident applicants are to apply online by visiting the Department’s Website . The license fee for an individual agent is $40.00.
How much is the renewal fee & how often do I have to renew?
All individual licenses will be issued with an expiration date determined by the date of birth: if you were born in an even-numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an even- numbered year. If you were born in an odd-numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an odd-numbered year. – Biennial licensing period.
